I have done this before. Just boot up with working machine, compatible of
course, pull out bios chip, put other chip in, run program, turn off, pull
out chip, put it in other machine. Works good. -Josh

I'm looking at a Canon E640 camcorder for a friend.

The viewfinder goes dim every once in a while.

Schematics would be nice, or even a pinout for the the viewfinder CRT.
Does anybody know what kind of 'high' voltage we're dealing with in these
little camcorder CRT's.

Replace your radio with one designed for the FM band in your country.
(88-108 MHz in the USA & Canada).  The Japanese FM band is 76 - 90 MHz,
IIRC.  Your car should have come with the correct radio for your country
already installed.

Hi Group: This is no doubt the biggest tv that I have ever seen!  It  is
model VS7001R and the symptom is a very dark screen, you can just make
out video, but it also looks out of focus and smeared.  The sound is
ok.  I am also puzzled at how a person would get to the crts, because
the front cover doesn't seem to come off, most are held on by velcro but
this one seems to be glued and stapled.  Your help is greatly
appreciated.  Thank you!  I am also confused about how one goes about
making voltage meassurements because the boards are huge but the wires
are short, Help!.

Most the Mit. projection sets hide srews for the font panel, Speaker/screen
frame, behind the logo and magnet caps if has doors.  The logo is spring loaded
and you pull it out and rotate to expose screw.  Hope this helps you get it
apart,  good luck on repairing it.
