Hi Craig,
looks like you just implemented exactly what I was looking for. :-)
Now a few questioons came up.
1. I'd use this XML markup for a "stop all" project. Is it correct and
complete?

Hi Markus,
This is a good idea and one that is reasonably easy to implement - so I have
added it to the latest build.
As an example, you can now use the following task to stop all the projects
on a server:
<cruiseServerControl>
<actions>
<controlAction>
<project>*</project>
<type>StopProject</type>

I made a small program that does this, it links to the assemblies of CCNet,
below is the code.
It's in VB.Net, but you can just compile it, or translate it to C# (online
translations)
works like a charm :-)

The client 'FastForward' (replacement of cctray) allows multiselect of
projects , and cast stop to all of them in a click.

Hi, original project maintainer here!
You're right, SRL makes the assumption that you are working with the most up-to-date code. Very early versions took the checked-out version's revision number, but that behaviour was changed, although I can't recall exactly why that was changed.
On a side note, I'm no longer involved with CC.NET at work very much - we're migrating to TFS, and I just don't have the time to keep things up-to-date. If anyone would like to take over the running of the project, please ping me.

I've seen something related in the 1.5 RC1 build. I have a project
configured not to update, using AutoGetSource=False in my Subversion
block. The CCNetLabel seems to come from the latest rev in the SVN
repository and not from the working folder.

You didn't say what programming language you're using. Anyway you
could check the license file into source control using your app's
folder. So whenever CCNet asks your source control for the latest
version of your project's files it will get the latest version of your
license file, too.

I have no idea of Nant or the ThoughtWorks.CruiseControl.Rem ote.dll.
If you had some sample code for me I'd happily include it in my
ccnet.config. :-)
I don't need any flags. It's just about stopping and starting ALL
projects.

What about using a star for the project name or an empty project
name?
e.g. <controlAction type="StopProject" project="*" />
Will this automatically stop all projects?

Hello!

I am using the current nightly of the 1.5 branch and was using the "svn revision labeler" to give my build a label that includes the svn revision number. But it looks to me like it does not work anymore correcty - it seems that the labeler is called before the source code is updated, where in the 1.4 it was called afterwards - or I did not look carefully enough and only recognized that just now. So how is the flow?

You could create a custom nant task that allows you to specify one or
more patterns to match project names (or a flag to specify all) and
specify one or more servers and then make use of the
ThoughtWorks.CruiseControl.Rem ote.dll to shutdown, startup or force

I you asked me a few days before I'd said this never happened to
me. ;-) But I had the same issue a few days ago using V1.4.4 SP1.
Stopping and restarting the CCNet service did the trick for me.
